Have you ever wondered what you have to do to become a Christian?
It's as easy as the ABC's

Admit that you have done wrong things called sin. Sin is any thought or action that disobeys God. God hates sin! Your sin keeps you apart from God. The bible says that everyone has sinned.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23 (NIV)
The Bible tells us that the punishment for sin is suffering forever and ever away from God in a placed the Bible calls hell.
"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life." Matthew 25:46 (NIV)
Hell is a terrible place of fire and punishment. You need to be saved from the punishment of your sin. But you cannot do anything to save yourself. Doing good will not get you to heaven.

Jesus, God's Son, made a way for you to be saved. God made a way for your sins to be forgiven so you can be saved from the punishment of your sin.
"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 (NIV)
The Bible says you need to believe (trust) on the Lord Jesus Christ. What does it mean to believe? Believing means to have faith in God.
"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." Hebrews 11:6 (NIV)
Faith is from God. Faith is believing in Jesus and what He has done even though you have never seen Him. You are saved by believing in Jesus Christ as your Savior from sin.
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV)
"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him." John 3:36 (NIV)
What should you believe? You need to believe that Jesus came to be the Savior because of your sin. As the Savior, Jesus took your place on the cross. He bled and died because of your sin. No one made Jesus die for you; He did it because He loves you. Jesus died so that you would not suffer everlasting punishment in hell. Three days later, He rose from the dead so you can live forever in heaven with Him.
"For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures." 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (NIV)
Your sins were forgiven when Jesus died on the cross for you. Jesus wants you to accept His forgiveness for your sins. When you trust Jesus as your Savior, he takes your sins away forever. When Jesus died on the cross for your sin, He made a way for you to be saved from everlasting punishment. That is why we call it being SAVED when you trust Jesus as your Savior. He gives you everlasting life in heaven with Him.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23 (NIV)

Each person must make a choice. Now it is your turn. You must commit. Have you trusted Jesus as your Savior from sin? Will you receive His forgiveness for your sins? What will you choose?
"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." Romans 10:9-10 (NIV)
"For, 'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" Romans 10:13 (NIV)
Stop and think. Be sure that you are not doing this just to please someone like your mom or dad or because you know a friend has decided to trust Jesus as Savior. You should decide because you know that you need to be saved from your sins. You want Jesus to be your Savior. Remember God's grace through faith saves us.  Prayer is not what saves them, they are saved by trusting Jesus as their Savior. If you have trusted Jesus as your Savior, thank Him for saving you. You can do this by talking to Him. When you are ready, you might say something like this…

A Prayer for Salvation

"Jesus, I thank You for saving me from my sins. I know I have sinned. I believe that You took my place on the cross where You bled and died because You love me. Thank You, Jesus, for loving me so much. Thank You for rising again so that I can have everlasting life in heaven with You. Thank You for forgiving my sins. Thank You for Your gift of everlasting life in heaven with You. Thank You for saving me and making a place for me in heaven so I can be with You someday."
